NetLotto Version 2.4

NetLotto Version 2.4 is on target for month end and the update will be distributed free to all existing users. Canada provincial lotteries have already been added though we're still waiting on them to supply us with past results. I've also been asked to add German and Chinese lotteries.

I've been looking at some other lottery systems lately and am starting to realize that NetLotto is under priced. Others are charging $67 and more for the same old rehashed wheeling systems and for software that's about as far away from user friendly as it's possible to get. Some have an annual charge. I read one user manual that couldn't make up its mind whether numbers should be spelled "numbers" or "nubmers"! I figure if they can't write English, how can they do the much more complex job of writing an effective computer program?

I'm developing some great ideas for wheeling systems that will make their way into later versions of NetLotto as additional features. The price will be going up, but don't forget that if you buy now, you get all future updates at no extra cost.

Don't forget the Powerball game changes from August 28.

Two white balls will be added to the first pool of numbers in Powerball drawings, meaning players will choose five from 55. The Powerball pool will remain at 42. At the same time, the guaranteed starting jackpot will increase from $10 million to $15 million and the prize for players who match the first five numbers will be doubled to $200,000.

"Old Money" Redefined

TORONTO (Reuters) - An 89-year-old couple who won a C$7.5 million lottery jackpot plan to keep living in their retirement home and perhaps splurge on a new pair of nylons for her and a Lincoln car for him. The pair, who both turn 90 soon and have two daughters, said they were unlikely to become giddy high spenders.

A Bit of History

In 1989, South Dakota pioneered the first state Video Lottery in the nation. Many lotteries worldwide have patterned their Video Lottery systems after the South Dakota model.

The legislation to authorize Video Lottery was introduced into the Senate in 1988, but fell one vote short of the required two thirds majority. It was reintroduced a year later and passed. In 1992, Video Lottery appeared on the general election ballot as an initiated measure for repeal. South Dakotans voted by 63% to 37% to keep Video Lottery. Shortly after the election, a lawsuit was filed challenging the constitutionality of Video Lottery. Eventually, in 1994, the state Supreme Court declared Video Lottery unconstitutional and a court order to shut it down was handed down on the 12th of August that year. In a special legislative session, the state’s lawmakers passed a resolution to place a constitutional amendment on the general election ballot to reauthorize Video Lottery. Subsequently, South Dakotans voted by 53% to 47% in favor and Video Lottery was restarted on 22nd of November, 1994.

On the 7th of November, 2000, voters again defeated a measure to outlaw the Video Lottery, this time by a margin of 54% to 46%.

Tip of the Week

If you're not using NetLotto to create your lottery entries, if you're still doing them manually, here's 5 tips to avoid sharing a prize with too many others:

  1. Don't pick numbers that have already won, especially not from recent draws. Many players believe that winning numbers are somehow lucky and therefore more likely to come up. Of course that isn't true, but a lot of people do it.
  2. Don't pick numbers based on an arithmetic sequence, such as 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, or 01, 11, 21, 31, 41, 49. People like number patterns - you would be stunned at how many people pick this way every single week.
  3. Don't pick numbers according to a "tip" service. Just imagine how many other people will use the same numbers!
  4. Don't pick numbers purely according to family birthdays. Enormous numbers of lottery players choose the day of the birthday of family members when selecting lottery numbers. But there are only 31 days at most in a month - which means an awful lot of people pick all their numbers in that range.
  5. Don't make a pattern on your playslip. Diagonal or straight lines in any direction, star shapes, boxes, zig-zags etc. You might think who else would do that? The answer is anywhere from tens of people to tens of THOUSANDS of people!

NOW ... Here's eight tips to dramatically increase your chances of winning:

  1. There IS an incredibly simple way to lower Lottery Odds.
The Odds in, for example, a 49-ball lottery are 1-in-13,983,816.
Play all 49 lottery numbers – and you are GUARANTEED to have one ball correct. And it only requires 9 games. Even the 59-ball New York Lottery only requires 10 games.
  2. With just one ball guaranteed correct, your Lottery Odds have now fallen from 1-in-13,983,816 to 1-in-1,712,304 – A reduction of over TWELVE Million! And all this with a technique that takes 5 minutes and costs under $10.
  3. The most probable lottery result has three odd lottery numbers and three even lottery numbers (33.3% of the 13,983,816 combinations are of this type.)
  4. A lottery result with no consecutive numbers occurs just over 1-week-in-2 on average (50.5% of the 13,983,816 combinations are of this type.)
  5. Your lottery results can be boosted using games with three high lottery numbers and three low lottery numbers (33.3% of the combinations are of this type.)
  6. The most probable lottery result will have no lottery numbers from the previous week (43.6% of the 13,983,816 combinations) or two numbers from the previous week (41.3% of the 13,983,816 combinations.)
  7. Constructing your games using these rules – and using all the numbers in your lottery – is the simplest, easiest, quickest way to improve your lottery results.
  8. A 49-ball lottery has been used as an example – but the concept applies to all lotteries, with just slight changes in the percentages. In the Lottery, it’s true that anything is possible – but some things are more probable than others!

While it's possible to do all this by hand, it's difficult and time consuming. And you've still got the job of checking all those tickets against the winning numbers. Why not employ these strategies right now with NetLotto. It may be the best $29.95 you've ever spent!
