New Mexico Lottery: New Mexico Roadrunner Cash and Powerball

For the seventh full year in a row, the people of New Mexico have shown solid support of the New Mexico Lottery, its games and beneficiaries. After a sixth consecutive full year of record sales, and a fourth straight year of record profits, Fiscal Year 2003 reached new milestones for the State. The Lottery Authority has returned multi-million dollar profits for New Mexico education every year since sales began in April 1996.

The Lottery returns a minimum of 50% of proceeds to players in the form of prizes. Funds are also allocated to cover the cost of product, as well as retailer commissions and administrative costs. Once these expenses have been covered, the Lottery turns over all net proceeds to the State Treasurer for use in funding education in New Mexico.

For New Mexico Roadrunner Cash, select 5 balls from 31. There are 3 prize levels:

1. 5 balls
2. 4 balls
3. 3 balls

For multi-state Powerball, select 5 numbers from 53 and another number (the Powerball) from a separate pool of 42. All 6 numbers are required to win first prize. There are 9 levels of prizes:

1. 5 main balls + powerball
2. 5 main balls
3. 4 main balls + powerball
4. 4 main balls
5. 3 main balls + powerball
6. 3 main balls
7. 2 main balls + powerball
8. 1 main ball + powerball
9. power ball only
