Missouri Lottery: Missouri Lotto and Powerball

For the 12th year in a row, Missouri Lottery proceeds have surpassed the previous year’s total and set a new record. The total proceeds contributed to education in fiscal year 2004 were more than $230.3 million. This is an 18.75 percent increase compared to the past fiscal year, when proceeds totaled $193.9 million.

Lottery funds help support early childhood special education, computer networking, construction of college and university buildings, library acquisitions and educational scholarships. These programs and others that receive Lottery money provide the resources that help Missouri students fulfill their individual dreams -- dreams that define Missouri's future and ultimately benefit all of us.

For Missouri Lotto, select 6 balls from 44. First prize is won by matching all 6 balls drawn. There are 4 prize levels:

1. 6 balls
2. 5 balls
3. 4 balls
4. 3 balls

For multi-state Powerball, select 5 numbers from 53 and another number (the Powerball) from a separate pool of 42. All 6 numbers are required to win first prize. There are 9 levels of prizes:

1. 5 main balls + powerball
2. 5 main balls
3. 4 main balls + powerball
4. 4 main balls
5. 3 main balls + powerball
6. 3 main balls
7. 2 main balls + powerball
8. 1 main ball + powerball
9. power ball only
