District of Columbia Lottery: DC Quick Ca$h, Hot Lotto and Powerball

Since the Lottery's inception in 1982, our total contribution has been over $1.1 billion. The D.C. Lottery's annual transfer to the General Fund remains a vital component in aiding the city's economy, thereby benefiting all residents of the District of Columbia, as well as suburban commuters and tourists. The General Fund supports services such as education, recreation and parks, public safety, housing, and senior and child services. The D.C. Lottery directly benefits our players by paying out more than 50 percent of annual sales in prize money. We also directly benefit local businesses by providing commissions to retailers licensed to sell D.C. Lottery games and offering contracting opportunities.

For DC Quick Ca$h, select 6 balls from 39. First prize is won by matching all 6 balls drawn. There are 3 prize levels:

1. 6 balls
2. 5 balls
3. 4 balls

For multi-state Hot Lotto, select 5 numbers from 39 and another number (the Hot Ball) from a separate pool of 19. All 6 numbers are required to win first prize. There are 9 levels of prizes:

1. 5 main balls + hot ball
2. 5 main balls
3. 4 main balls + hot ball
4. 4 main balls
5. 3 main balls + hot ball
6. 3 main balls
7. 2 main balls + hot ball
8. 1 main ball + hot ball
9. hot ball only

For multi-state Powerball, select 5 numbers from 53 and another number (the Powerball) from a separate pool of 42. All 6 numbers are required to win first prize. There are 9 levels of prizes:
